Marco Campioni


Marco Campioni was born in Venice (Italy) on 12/10/1976. He received the Laurea Degree (5 year program) in Electrical Engineering in April 2002 from the University of Padua (Italy). He is presently a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Padua. His interests are in the field of modelling and identification of physiological systems. The main focus is in modelling of the glucose-insulin regulation system, where he has obtained new results, both in theory and applications. His degree thesis, "Minimal Models for the Estimation of Hepatic Insulin Extraction During a Meal", supervisor Prof. G. Toffolo, co-examiner E. Breda Ph.D, won the award of the Bioengineering Italian National Group as the best bioengineering thesis in the year 2002. He won the ESEM award in the Student Paper Competition at MEDICON 2004, Ischia (NA, Italy).
