Conference Objectives

To provide a forum for social and technical interaction between all science professionals interested in biomedical engineering and biotechnology.

To encourage and develop the application of engineering principles, concepts and techniques in healthcare.

To offer solutions to problems of biomedical engineering and emphasize the prospects for the professional practice in Nigeria.

Biomedical Engineering and Bio-technology in Nigeria:Problems & Prospects.
Sub themes: The theme is subdivided into the following sub themes:

Current Issues in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology

Problems and Solutions of Biomedical Engineering Practice in Nigeria

Prospects of Biomedical Engineering Practice in Nigeria Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology for Sustainable Development

International Collaboration in Biomedical Engineering

Call for Papers

Papers are invited from members of the scientific community. Authors of papers are required to adhere to the following guidelines.

  1. Focus on the theme or sub themes of the conference
  2. Submit four (4) copies of the paper which shall not be more than 10 double-spaced-A4-sized pages (250 words per page) including equations, tables, figures and references
  3. This should be accompanied with a copy of the diskette containing the paper in MS Word.
  4. Authors are requested to submit in addition a short profile (Resume) of their academic and professional experience.
  5. The person who is to conduct the presentation should be indicated.
  6. Indicate the author with whom correspondence may be exchanged with the appropriate postal and Email addresses.
  7. Indicate whether the presentation will be aided by the use of audio or video tapes, slides, posters, transparencies, etc
  8. Every complete paper must reach the Conference Board by 30th September 2003.
  9. Notification of full acceptance is expected to be given by 7th October 2003
  10. Every author whose paper has been accepted is to duly register for the conference before October 14th, 2003 if his/her paper is to appear in the conference proceedings
