New IFMBE Honorary Life Members

The IFMBE General Assembly has elected three distinguished members of the biomedical engineering community as Honorary Life Members. These new members are individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the Federation, but also who are well known experts in particular fields of biomedical engineering and whom we all know from a number of conferences and congresses:

• Professor Fumihiko Kajiya, Japan
• Professor Richard Kirsner, Australia
• Professor Niilo Saranummi, Finland

All three newly elected Honorary Life Members actively participated in the activities of the IFMBE General Assembly in Sydney and received tremendous applause when the President of the Nomination Committee, Prof. Jean-Pierre Morucci announced the results of the election.
