German Technical Co-operation in Healthcare
The Deutsche Gessellschaft für Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH is a parastatal organisation with the mandate of implementing technical-aid programmes in developing countries on behalf of the German Government and other financing bodies such as the World Bank and CEC.
The Health Section is one of the many specialist units of the GTZ. Its activities include developing project strategies in healthcare, planning specific projects the world over as well as monitoring their performances and progress (Systems Approach). The operations of the unit can be broken down into three key areas:
