12th International Conference on
Biomagnetism
August 13-17, 2000
Helsinki University of Technology, Espoo,
Finland
We are delighted to announce that the 12th International Conference on
Biomagnetism, Biomag2000, will be held at the Helsinki University of Technology
in Espoo, Finland, from August 13 - 17, 2000. The campus area, Otaniemi, is one
of the pioneering centres of biomagnetism. Presently, several groups contribute
to the biomagnetic research, using the large-scale facilities in the Helsinki
area. In addition, Helsinki will be a European City of Culture in the year 2000,
offering a rich variety of cultural events during the Conference time. We warmly
welcome you to the scientifically and culturally stimulating environment of the
first Biomagnetism Conference of the new millennium!
Toivo Katila, Conference Chair
Topics
- Bioelectromagnetic theory (forward and inverse problem, source modelling)
- Biomagnetic signal analysis
- Biomagnetic measurement techniques
- Magnetoencephalography (sensory and motor systems, cognitive functions,
clinical applications)
- Magnetocardiography (basic and clinical applications)
- Other biomagnetic applications and multimodal imaging
Presentations
The scientific program includes special lectures by leading scientists in
the field, keynote speeches, followed by symposia on hot topics of biomagnetism,
wizard workshops on specific aspects of data analysis, practical stimulation
procedures, etc., and free oral and poster communication. Didactic tutorials are
also arranged on the basics of biomagnetism, instrumentation, signal and source
analysis, experimental procedures, and data interpretation. The tutorials are
well-suited for newcomers in the field.
The official Conference language is English.
