Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical EngineeringThe Ragnar Granit Institute, Tampere, Finland, will host the 10th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering from 9 to 13 June 1996. The Conference continues the series of IFMBE Regional Nordic Meetings on Medical and Biological Engineering. Due to the changing political scene in Northern Europe, the list of primary participating countries has been extended to include, in addition to the Nordic countries, those bordering the Baltic Sea; Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. The Conference will be also be open to representatives from other countries. The scientific themes of the Conference will include the entire field of biomedical engineering and medical physics. The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is January 1996. Satellite symposia have also been organised. The Midnight Sun Symposium in Lapland on Technology Transfer Between Research Institutes and Industry will be held on 7-8 June 1995. The Symposium on Physiological Measurements will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, on 14-15 June 1995. The Conference will be followed by the International Graduate School in Biomagnetism on Source-Field Relationships for Excitable Tissue and the Ragnar Granit Symposium on Modelling and Detection of the Electric and Magnetic Field of the Heart.
