Polish Committee of Biomedical Engineering of SEP2002 ACTIVITY REPORT In 2002 the Committee organized five board meetings and four plenary meetings on biomedical and clinical engineering problems. During plenary meetings the following subjects were discussed: interaction of electromagnetic field with pacemaker activity, electrical safety problems, arrangements for telemedicine, instrumentation for intervention cardiology and others. On the 17th May 2002 during the International Telecommunication Day the Committee organized in Warsaw a conference on "Digital Telecommunication Technologies in Medical Applications". On 25th October 2002, the Committee organized in Warsaw the National Conference on Instrumentation Methods in Medical Diagnostic. The Committee cooperates also with the International Centre of Biocybernetics (director - prof. M. Nalecz), which was established in 1988. The collaboration resulted in arranging many conferences, seminars, symposia and 70 international workshops. In 2003 the committee is planning to organize the National Conference on New Methods and Instrumentation for Medical Diagnosis, in Warsaw, from November 5-6 and the International Workshop on Recent Achievements of Bioimpedance Research", from November 13-17.
