The Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia is organising the Kuala Lumpur International Conference on Biomedical Engineering 2004 (BioMed 2004) on September 2-4, 2004 at PJ Hilton Hotel, Malaysia. This is the second instalment of international conferences conducted by the department. It is expected that the conference will attract more than 250 practitioners, academicians, and providers to showcase latest innovation and breakthroughs in biomedical engineering.

The objectives of the conference are five-fold:

  • To provide a forum for presenting current research in biomedical engineering
  • To promote regional cooperation and interchange among universities and research institutes
  • To gather academicians and researchers in medicine and engineering to exchange ideas and experiences
  • To motivate further developments of technical industries in biomedical engineering

The conference is primarily targeted at biomedical engineers, medical practitioners, and medical physicists. In addition, all academics and researchers from engineering and medical faculties are also encouraged to be part of BioMed 2004
