Ozren Radenovic
Biomedical Engineering and Skiing - How nice!

Ozren Radenovic was born on April 11 1969 in Zagreb, Croatia. Upon finishing
professional high-school for electrotechnics in Zagreb in 1988, he entered Faculty of
Physical Education (today Faculty of Kinesiology), University of Zagreb. He got his
B.Ed. degree in 1994 with the thesis: «Biomechanical analysis of forward somersault
using gymnastic equipment in female sport gymnastics». In 1995 he spent one month
of specialisation in sport gymnastics in Novorosijsk, Russia. In 1997 he started
graduate study at the same faculty. His M.Sc. thesis, (under the supervision of
Prof. dr. Vladimir Medved), currently in data analysis stage, concerns biomechanical
comaparison of standard and carving skies.

Mr. Radenovic's working experience includes several part-time and a full-time
appointments. Since 1994 he worked as Head of Zagreb School of Female Sports Gymnastics,
while since 1996 he served as a member of The Croatian Ski Demo Team. In 1997 he took
full-time appointment in teaching at The Zagreb School of Health Studies, in the
subject of planning, programming and implementation of training processes. He has
since also become a president of the Biomechanics Research Committee of The Croatian
Ski Teachers Association, a member of Janica Kostelic's (multiple gold medal
winner in at the Winter Olympic Games , Salt Lake City, 2002) coach team in charge
of general physical fitness program, as well as teacher in biomechanics of apline
skiing courses at the courses for ski teachers and coaches.

He attended several national and international conferences and courses in fields of
physical education, kinesiology, skiing and movement analysis. In June 2001, he was
awarded by one of three equal awards for the best student paper at the IX Mediterranean
Conference for Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing, Pula, Croatia,
for his paper: "A New Biomechanical Measurement and Testing Method for Turns
in Alpine Skiing"
