Young Investigators' Competition

Just a few hours before closing of the deadline for submission of Abstracts (April 30 - midnight ) for the 2nd European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference to be held in Vienna, December 2002, the organizers have received 915 abstracts. 222 of these abstracts have been submitted by Young Investigators, i.e. born no earlier than Jan. 01, 1971. This is a really impressive number, and clear evidence both for the qualification and interest of those young researchers and the attractiveness of Medical and Biological Engineering for young researchers. Precise numbers on submitted papers for different topice and from different countries can be found in tables below.

The Local organizing Committee has decided to give two awards in this competition, one for the best oral presentation and the second one for the best poster presentation.

Young Investigators' Competition Statistics*

* The figures listed in the tables below represent the number of submitted abstracts, not the number of accepted presentations since the reviewing process is still not completed.

Abstracts submitted by Young Researchers (born not earlier than Jan. 01, 1971):222
All submitted abstracts:915
