Havana 2001
2nd Latin American Congress of Biomedical Engineering
23-27 May 2001, ORTOP Convention Center, Havana, Cuba
The Cuban Society of Bioengineering, the Medical Association
of the Caribbean and the Regional Council of Biomedical Engineering for Latin
America (CORAL) is organizing the 2nd Latin American Congress of Biomedical
Engineering. This event has the purpose of promoting a fraternal and fruitful
interchange among professionals of biomedical engineering of Latin America as
well as of maintaining the continuity of these encounters.
Abstracts of papers are invited by end of September 2000 on the
following topics:
- Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks
- Bioelectromagnetism
- Bioimpedance
- Biomaterials and Biosensors
- Biomechanics
- Clinical Engineering
- Educational Aspects in Biomedicine
- Evaluation of Health Technologies
- Image and Signal Processing
- Informational Science and Computers in Medicine
- Instrumentation for Monitoring and Diagnosis
- Microelectronics applied to Medicine
- Modelling and Simulation
- Optics and Laser in Medicine
- Prosthesis and Artificial Organs
- Quality Assurance
- Radiobiology and Radiotherapy
- Rehabilitation Engineering
- Robotics
- Telemetry and Telemedicine
Young researchers are invited to participate in a student competition where
the best papers will receive awards. Special sessions will be organized with
workshops, seminars and courses on topics of interest presented by recognized
experts. Visits to centres of interest in Havana City will also be organized.
