4th International Conference on Bioelectromagnetism

2-5 July 2002, Montreal, Canada

  International Congress on Electrocardiology

Preparations are well underway for the forthcoming XXIXth International Congress on Electrocardiology and the 4th International Conference on Bioelectromagnetism, to be held 2-5 July 2002 at the Hilton Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal, Canada. Both meetings have been combined this year into a single joint conference encompassing biomedical engineering, electrocardiology, electroencephalography, magnetoencephalography, and the effects of electromagnetic radiation. While the detailed program is still being drawn up, the list of 18 invited speakers is available on the conference website (http://www.heartandbrain.org). These world-renowned invited speakers are to give 30-minute review talks on a variety of themes. A very high-quality technical program is being planned, with the conference proceedings being published as a special issue of the International Journal of Bioelectromagnetism.

An enjoyable Social Program for conference attendees has been drawn up. It includes a Welcome Reception, a classical music concert with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in Old Montreal's beautiful Notre-Dame Basilica, and finally a Closing Banquet held aboard a cruise boat on the St. Lawrence river.

The closing date for papers is 15 March 2002, and that for early registration is 1 May 2002. Students are eligible for reduced registration and for inexpensive accommodation at the McGill University residences. There are also Young Investigator Competitions for the best paper and best poster by a student or young investigator below 40 years of age.
