Biomedical Engineering Degree Day at the Technical University of BudapestOn 25 November 1999, 37 engineers and six medical doctors were awarded their second diploma in Biomedical Engineering. The course lasts for six semesters. In the first semester different subjects are compulsory for the students: anatomy, physiology and biochemistry for the engineering students, and mathematics, mechanics and informatics for the medical students. In the first three semesters the subjects of the Biomedical Engineering course have to be taken in parallel with the engineering or medical subjects necessary for the first diploma. This BME course was accomplished in close co-operation between three universities: the Technical University of Budapest, the Semmelweis University of Medicine and the University of Veterinary Sciences. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Technical University of Budapest is responsible for the course.
