MEDICON 2004 Student Competition

During MEDICON 2004 there will be a competition for the best student paper.
The best students will be awarded by AIIMBE and ESEM.
All finalists will receive complimentary conference registration, social function tickets, Conference Proceedings and Certificates of Merit.

The three winners of the STUDENT PAPER COMPETITION will receive an engraved plaque and an honorarium of 300 Euros for the first place winner, 200 Euros for the second place winner, and 100 Euros for the third place winner. The winners will also be invited to submit expanded versions of their work for publication in the IFMBE Journal.

Additionally, ESEM will run a competition open only to PhD students, clinical relevance and applicability being the major criteria, together with scientific excellence.
There will be a single prize of 500 Euro and all eligible competitors will receive free membership to ESEM for 12 months.

All papers submitted for Student Competition were evaluated for technical merit, originality and clarity of presentation.
The Student Paper Competition Committee will use the reviewer's scores to select the finalists.
The finalists will be selected by the Student Paper Competition Committee and their names will be announced at the Opening Ceremony on July 31, 2004.
Each Finalist is obliged to attend the Conference and present his or her paper within the regular conference program, either as an oral or poster presentation - no substitutes are permitted.
The presentation of the finalists within regular Sessions will also be evaluated by the Chairmen of each Session for the mentioned five criteria and additionally for professionalism of the presentation and for verbal communication skills. The Student Paper Competition Committee will announce the winners and present the awards at the Closing Ceremony scheduled for August 5, 2004 at 5.00 p.m.
