From the Editor

June is the month of conferences and many scientists travel around the world to meet and discuss the scientific matters with their colleagues from other parts of the globe. As a result, the number of contributions for this issue of the News is not as large as usual.

And yet, for the IFMBE community, there were two important new changes associated with June 2002:

• free access to the Journal "Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing", available on the Internet from the web pages of the IFMBE (www.ifmbe.org)
• the web page of the new European IFMBE organisation EAMBES (www.eambes.org) is published on the Internet.

Visit these pages, explore the news from the world of science and from the biomedical engineering community and please send in your contributions. Just don't forget your summer holidays!
