World peace and health through biomedical engineeringThe 1995 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly to Professor J. Roblat, Chairman of the Pugwash Conference, and to the Pugwash movement. (The Pugwash Conference was established to take the initiative in the peaceful use of atomic energy.)
He has also been enthusiastically active for international research co-operation especially between Eastern and Western Europe and Asia, as Chairman of the International Center of Biocybernetics, Poland. His activities have thus always been aimed at the development and advance of biomedical engineering with the final goal of world peace and health. Let us congratulate Professor Nalecz on his great and continuous contribution to the Pugwash Conference and to the IFMBE.
