Ákos Jobbágy - SC ChairÁkos Jobbágy received the MSc degree in electrical engineering in 1975 from Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE), the Candidate of Sciences degree in 1994 from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (based on a thesis: Centre Estimation in Marker-based Motion Analysis) and the PhD degree in 1995 from BUTE. He has been member of staff at the Department of Measurement and Information Systems, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at BUTE since 1976. Currently, he is an associate professor and Director of Education at BUTE. His main interest is biomedical engineering, and his present research work concentrates on the objective assessment of patients with neural diseases using marker-based motion analysis and home health monitoring. He has been teaching in fields related to biomedical instrumentation as well as in circuits and systems. He was principal investigator and project leader in about twenty R & D projects and obtained several scientific research grants (some of them with international co-operation) mainly in the field of biomedical engineering. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and about 10 papers on engineering education. Between 1994 and 2003 he was the secretary; in 2003 he was elected as president of the Electronic and Biomedical Instrumentation Section of the Scientific Society of Measurement, Automation and Informatics, the Hungarian member society of IFMBE. He is a senior member of IEEE and the Hungarian member of the TC13 (biomedical engineering) of IMEKO.
