IFMBE Committees

The activities of the IFMBE are, to a great extent, conducted through the Federation's Committees, Divisions and working groups. A large number of our colleagues work, very often behind the scene and without a lot of publicity, and prepare activities, events and documents important for the Federation. In a series of articles in this issue of the News and in those following throughout the year, The News will try to present at least some of the Committees and their leading people.

In this issue, two Committees are presented:

Federation Journal Committee
and
Secretaries Committee.

These Committees have a very high level of activity and one should give them much credit for continuous activities on increasing the visibility of the Federation in the International scientific and professional community. The result of the activity of the FJC is the Journal, MBEC and the Federation's Newsletter. The committee also contributed to the establishment of the IFMBE Proceedings Series.
Secretaries Committee builds up the connections between the affiliated societies and contributes a lot in organisation of regional IFMBE co-sponsored conferences. In future, it is expected that even more activities are started from this committee that will enable better exchange of scientific ideas and support in professional matters to each and every affiliated society.
