1st Japanese-Korean Symposium on Medical and Biological EngineeringFollowing the 13th Autumn Conference of the Japanese Society of Medical Electronics and Biological Engineering (JSMEBE), held on October 28-29, the 1st Japanese-Korean Symposium on Medical and Biological Engineering was held at the National Cardiovascular Center Research Institute in Suita-city, Osaka, Japan. This was the first meeting to exchange academic knowledge among Japanese and Korean experts in a range of fields of medical and biological engineering. Six researchers from Korea participated in this symposium. Eight papers were presented and valuable information was exchanged. After fruitful discussions, at dinner we sang "The world is one, we are friends!" which was composed specially for the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering, held in Seoul on September 12-15, 1999.
