12th International Conference on Biomagnetism13/17 August 2000 Helsinki University of Technology, Espoo, Finland We are delighted to announce that the 12th International Conference on Biomagnetism, Biomag2000, will be held at the Helsinki University of Technology in Espoo, Finland, from August 13 to 17, 2000. The campus area, Otaniemi, is one of the pioneering centres of biomagnetism. Presently, several groups contribute to biomagnetic research, using the large-scale facilities in the Helsinki area. In addition, Helsinki will be a European City of Culture in the year 2000, offering a rich variety of cultural events during the conference. We warmly welcome you to the scientifically and culturally stimulating environment of the first biomagnetism conference of the new millennium! Toivo Katila, Conference Chair Topics
Presentations The scientific program includes special lectures by leading scientists in the field, keynote speeches, followed by symposia on hot topics of biomagnetism, wizard workshops on specific aspects of data analysis, practical stimulation procedures, etc., and free oral and poster communication. Didactic tutorials will also be arranged on the basics of biomagnetism, instrumentation, signal and source analysis, experimental procedures, and data interpretation. The tutorials are well suited for newcomers in the field. The official conference language will be English. You can pre-register using the online pre-registration form. Note that pre-registration does not require any payments. Please fill in the pre- registration information carefully, which will help us in further communication and in the distribution of final conference information.
