MEDICON 2001 is the 9th in the series of Mediterranean meetings of the IFMBE (International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering). Previous Mediterranean Conferences were held in:

1977 Sorrento, Italy
1980 Marseille, France
1983 Portorož, Slovenia
1986 Sevilla, Spain
1989 Patras, Greece
1992 Capri, Italy
1995 Jerusalem, Israel
1998 Lemessos, Cyprus

The objective of the Conference is to provide the latest scientific, technical and engineering information as well as to present significant developments in Biomedical Engineering and Computing. The Conference Program will consist of both, invited and submitted papers dealing with new research, development and technologies in this field. The Conference will enable the participants to meet and exchange their experiences. They can share their views with experts and associate with colleagues from all over the world. The aim of this Conference is to promote biomedical engineering, to encourage its greater involvement in clinical practice and to give recognition to its importance and relevance in biomedicine and health care.
Authors worldwide are invited to submit papers for the 9th Mediterranean Conference.
